East Linton

Through the Phantassie Estate, the river mostly runs through arable land and between high banks which can be heavily overgrown and difficult to access in mid-summer.  Preston Mill is a popular visitor attraction.   Above East Linton, the river flows through a wooded valley with generally easy access from a footpath. This is a popular section with trout to be found in the many good runs and pools.
